Club History
In the year 2000, North Armagh Motorcycle & Car Club Ltd. celebrated its 50th Anniversary. The event was marked with some special occasions, some of which are mentioned throughout the site. Here is a brief look at the past fifty years, and how the club has grown from humble beginnings in an upstairs room in Lurgan to the successful running of one of Northern Ireland's premier road races - among other events.

1950
The first official club meeting is held in January in a small room above Dick Knox's shop in Lurgan.

1950's
The number of members increased and the club ran many motorcycle events, including road racing, short circuit, scrambling/grasstracks and trials.

1958
May '58 saw the first Tandragee 100 Road Race on the present day circuit.

1968
The club purchased new club rooms in Wellington Street, Lurgan - providing an excellent base for meetings and social events.

1970
November saw the formation of the car section of the club, which soon registered with the RAC, had regular section meetings and organised their first event - an autocross in a field outside Lurgan in 1971.

1970's
Membership of the car section increased and promoted a wide range of motorsport events including autotests, navigation rallies and sprints.

1976
Clubrooms vested by Northern Ireland Police Authority for new RUC Station in Lurgan.

1979
The Junior Solo section of the club was formed to cater for local motocross enthusiasts providing future motorcycle riders a chance to shine.

1981
The first running of the Lurgan Park Rally, the club's biggest and most successful event. Initial sponsorship was from Burmah Castrol UK.

1996
Seat UK secure a sponsorship deal of the Lurgan Park Rally, raising the profile of the event and attracting more big name competitors.

1998
Another expansion for the club as the Junior Quads Section is formed. This section now holds the honour of being the Premier Quad Club in Ireland.

2000
The club's 50th Anniversary Celebrations. Significant membership and dedicated working committees ensure a secure future for the club
